Asshat Of The Week AwardThis week we have a doozy. The story comes out of Tampa, Florida and involves the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s office. Surveillance footage from January 29 shows deputy Charlette Marshall-Jones, 44, dumping Brian Sterner out of his wheelchair and searching him on the floor after he was brought in on a warrant after a traffic violation.

What the hell is wrong with that woman? There’s no justification for that regardless of how the gentlemen was acting. The worst part is the apparent lack of remorse when she realized she dumped a paralyzed man on the floor.

Her excuse? She figured if he could drive, he could walk. WTF!

Excuse me officer, but your familiar with the little WHEELCHAIR symbol they put on automobile license plates, correct?

While I would never wish the same kind of injury this man has on anyone, this woman makes me really think hard about it. The fact that she didn’t appear to even care this man was lying on the ground now, possibly injured (he was), is what burns me up the most.

While I don’t believe this is representative of the police in general, it does show this department needs to be investigated for other prisoner abuses and that more protection FROM the police needs to be afforded the public. In too many of these stories, the officer often act the way they do from the power entitlement of the position.

I’ve said it before and I will repeat my quote here;

I don’t fear the Terrorists, I fear my local police.

Keep an eye on that man in blue.
