How many times have you read a news story where the reporter gets their information from some unnamed source that “spoke on condition of anonymity”. The reporter then goes on to write and quote this hearsay in the article as if it’s an official fact.

I am so sick of the tripe that gets reported under this guise of anonymity. While I realize that some information in an investigation can be obtained this way, there’s no need to report it as fact. Even worse, some reporters will print information they know should not be printed out of respect for other human beings.

To be specific, let’s take a look at a Faux News story on the recent deadly zoo tiger attack in California.

Brothers Paul Dhaliwal, 19, and Kulbir Dhaliwal, 23, were at San Francisco General Hospital with severe bite and claw wounds. Their names were provided by hospital and law enforcement sources who spoke on condition of anonymity because the family had not yet given permission to release their names.

This reporter decided to report information that they KNEW the family did not want released. The names of these brothers would have been released in due time when and if the family decides to make the information public. The hospital staff and law enforcement officials that released this information hiding behind that cloak of anonymity are the lowest scum of the Earth.

There is no interest in serving the public by providing this information. We do not NEED to know the names of these individuals today or ever for that matter. The only reason this reporter chose to do this was to get readers, not in the interest of reporting the facts.

No wonder this country is full of idiots and eTards.

Update: Even CNN is pointing this stupidity out.
