If your part of the slightly older generation on the Internet, you probably have memories, or nightmares depending on your point of view, about Mr. Whipple. He was the store clerk that always told the ladies, “Please don’t squeeze the Charmin!” but himself would give it a squeeze at the end of the commercials. I remember as a kid always giving it a poke thinking I was defying the freaky Mr. Whipple.

Dick Wilson, who played the quirky clerk in those ads for 21 years died Monday. He was 91.

So the next time you pass the TP isle, give the Charmin a squeeze in his memory.
