So the big news that came out yesterday was that Britney Spears utters the F word on a track from her upcoming album. SO WHAT? You don’t think there isn’t some rapper recording the F word and worse every day? Why is it when Britney utters the word it’s a huge deal that gets news coverage when the same word is issued everyday in rap recording studios?

I guess I just don’t understand it. It’s a word. It only holds a meaning YOU give it. If YOU find it offensive, that’s YOUR problem, not mine, so don’t tell me I shouldn’t use or even look at the word. Until YOU place the meaning of offensive on the word, it’s just an arrangement of letters that produce a unique sound when spoken. If you assign that offensive meaning to a word, why aren’t all words that are synonymous with it also offensive?
