The Right to Arm Bears
When our country was founded, people need a means to protect themselves from the wild animals and the Indians whose land we were encroaching on. So our Founding Fathers saw to it that The People would always be able to defend themselves. Unfortunately, the Second Amendment is based on a technology and technologies often change.
I am quite convinced if our Founding Fathers were to have written that amendment in today’s climate, it would be totally different. I do not believe for one moment that their intent was to arm people with weapons designed solely for killing humans.
Now youre probably saying to yourself, oh great, another gun control advocate and I would tell you HELL YES. I am also for allowing people a weapon to protect themselves in their home and on their property. When our Founding Fathers considered allowing The People to arm themselves, they figured people would all just have muskets. This is where I support the Right to Bear Arms; I believe that we should all be allowed to carry a musket!
Think about it for a moment. A musket is a very slow firing weapon, your not going to see any mass shootings using a musket. When firing a musket, they usually leave behind a large cloud of smoke, making it easy to spot where the gun was fired from and just as likely, the person that fired it.
Unfortunately, it’s too late for our country now. Restricting gun ownership will only lead to armed criminals and leave your citizens unable to protect themselves. We are in an Arms War with the criminals in this country and it’s a non-stop spiral heading for some really ugly times.
