When I first moved into my current house, cable internet wasn’t available so I had to wait like everyone else in town. Eventually a company by the name of GS Communications got cable internet service rolled out in our neighborhood and I was one of the first to sign up for it.

High-speed internet is really where it’s at! I loved the being able to download large files in minutes rather than hours as well as finally being a low-ping bastard on game servers. All was good. Then came Adelphia.

Adelphia bought out the market here and took over from GSC and proceeded to turn the system into shit. We all know that the executives of Adelphia sucked the company dry and ran it into the ground and the cable service went with it.

Then along comes Comcast and the potential for better service. Oh boy was I wrong. Since switching to Comcast my connection has been sketchy at best. For the past month for days on end my connection drops every 10 minutes like clockwork. I’ve called them 3 times now and get the same bullshit run around and “We’ll have a tech come look.”

I’ve had it with Comcast. My billing cycle is the middle of next month and if Comcast hasn’t improved I’m giving Verizon a call and get their DSL service. I know it’s not as fast as cable, but a fast connection is worthless if it can only remain stable for 10-15 minutes at a time.
